paralegal is someone who performs substantive
legal work for law firms or corporations, or
other entities but is self- employed. This person
contracts with law firms to handle overflow tasks
and can perform any assignment that could be
delegated to a paralegal employee. The
contracting or freelance paralegal’s work is
reviewed by the contracting attorney who is
ultimately responsible for the work
